I'm a Yoga Master

Okay, not really, but after taking 10 weeks of classes, I am definitely feeling stronger and a bit more bendy. Yoga was never necessarily hard for me, just a little challenging (like it should be) but last night in class I noticed that my muscles weren't getting as tired as they used to. Let me also add that I am not in a "high level" class or anything so I'm sure that a lot of yoga poses would still be very challenging or impossible for me at this point if I wanted to take a more advanced class.

This used to be my most dreaded pose because I have zero upper body strength, but last night my arms didn't even shake during the pose!

Downward Dog

On the other hand, I have loved these poses since my first class. I have no trouble with the balancing postures. I'm sure I have ice skating to thank for that. The ironic thing is that my balance is horrible outside of class because I have become a total klutz since having Mara (which I hear is common because of hormone fluctuations and how they affect your muscles), but in class, I ROCK at these. The teacher is even more wobbly than I am at the balancing poses so I DO feel like a Yoga Master when we do these.

All-in-all, I love yoga. I just wish we could do the balancing postures the whole time:) I'm so glad that some friends convinced me to give it a try!

Yoga sounds like a lot of fun. How much are your classes if you do not mind me asking? :-) You can respond to this question on my little shout box on my blog.
